Matt Greenfield

As the co-founder and Senior VP of ADV Films, North America's largest anime distributor, Matt Greenfield is easily one of the busiest men in anime today. He also considers himself one of the luckiest. Raised on a steady diet of science fiction novels, giant monster movies and animated series like Astroboy and Speed Racer, Greenfield's career never lost touch with his youthful interests. A Theater Major, he worked for four years at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, providing mission support for the first three Space Shuttle missions and the Voyager Jupiter flyby. In 1982, he moved to Texas where he began writing professionally and became heavily involved with the embryonic stages of a new fandom focused on Japanese animation.

Several attempts to interest outside production companies in anime led to the founding of AD Vision in 1992, where he has since racked up over a thousand production credits as producer, writer and/or director. Amidst his Senior VP executive duties, Matt has helmed the English language versions of well over 500 episodes of such anime classics as CHRONO CRUSADE, NOIR, EXCEL SAGA, GANTZ, RAHXEPHON, NADESICO, BUBBLEGUM CRISIS TOKYO 2040, GUNSMITH CATS, BATTLE ANGEL, SPRIGGAN, MACROSS and NEON GENESIS EVANGELION, and the live action GAMERA-GUARDIAN OF THE UNIVERSE. He's written numerous comic books and magazine articles and has over 300 voice acting credits (mostly as 'Brian Granveldt'.) Now married to voice actor Tiffany Grant, his current projects include directing the English language version of KURAU-PHANTOM MEMORY and THE WALLFLOWER, writing and producing an original animated series based on the best-selling David Weber novel MUTINEERS' MOON, and contributing to the production of the live-action EVANGELION feature film.
